# Introducing Database as a Service (DBaaS)

<p class="">Today we introduce our <a href="https://www.exoscale.com/dbaas/" target="_blank" rel="noopener nofollow">Database as a Service (DBaaS)</a> solution powered by Aiven. DBaaS is the latest extension of our core infrastructure service.</p><div class="medium-insert-images"><figure class="">

</figure></div><p class="">DBaaS is launched in Preview mode until the end of August to all customers within all zones. We start with a limited offering of open source based relational and distributed databases:</p><ul><li><a href="https://www.exoscale.com/dbaas/postgresql/" target="_blank" rel="noopener nofollow">PostgreSQL</a></li><li><a href="https://www.exoscale.com/dbaas/kafka/" target="_blank" rel="noopener nofollow">Apache Kafka</a></li><li><a href="https://www.exoscale.com/dbaas/redis/" target="_blank" rel="noopener nofollow">Redis</a></li><li><a href="https://www.exoscale.com/dbaas/elasticsearch/" target="_blank" rel="noopener nofollow">Elasticsearch</a></li></ul><p class="">All managed database options offer the highest security standards and are fully GDPR compliant. DBaaS is currently available via CLI only.</p><p class="">General Availability (GA) is expected for early September with activation of full SLAs on the service and further database options. Preview mode comes free to use until GA.</p>
