# Valkey is Coming Soon to Exoscale: The Future of NoSQL Caching

<p class="">We’re excited to announce that <strong>Valkey</strong>, a fully open-source, drop-in replacement for Redis®, will soon be available on Exoscale!</p>

<p><strong>Why Valkey?</strong></p>

<p class="">Valkey, maintained by the Linux Foundation, is fully backward-compatible with Redis 7.2.4.</p>

<p class="">It offers caching, message queues, and persistent key-value storage, with planned optimizations to improve performance and scalability.</p>
