Today we released the Exoscale Flexible Storage Template.
Many available compute instance templates are specifically designed for cloud platforms and instantly available. The drawback is that many of them are based on a single partition and a predefined filesystem chosen by the vendor. This often does not fit with specific customer requirements.
The Exoscale Flexible Storage Template exactly addresses these issues. It empowers users to manage their instance's storage exactly as they need it and will enable to easier resize volumes, create further partitions or optionally implement encryption.
A Flexible Storage instance is easily created by using the Exoscale CLI.
In our documentation we give a detailed guidance on how to use the Exoscale Flexible Storage Template.
The latest Kubernetes releases, 1.21.3 and 1.20.9, are now available on SKS.
Additionally, we released several new features on our Kubernetes offering:
Dedicated hypervisor support for nodepools: Users can run SKS nodepools on dedicated hypervisors by specifying the hypervisor group in a new "deploy-target" parameter on nodepools. This feature is also available for regular instance pools (not managed by SKS).
Instance prefix: By default, virtual machines (workers) for SKS are named "pool-<first 5 chars of the underlying instance pool id>-<5 random char>". Users can now control the prefix and replace "pool" by something else. This feature enables users to organize machines by name, which makes it easier to work with. It is also available in both nodepools and instance pools.
Today we introduce our Database as a Service (DBaaS) solution powered by Aiven. DBaaS is the latest extension of our core infrastructure service.
DBaaS is launched in Preview mode until the end of August to all customers within all zones. We start with a limited offering of open source based relational and distributed databases:
All managed database options offer the highest security standards and are fully GDPR compliant. DBaaS is currently available via CLI only.
General Availability (GA) is expected for early September with activation of full SLAs on the service and further database options. Preview mode comes free to use until GA.
The Regdata Protection Suite is a new entry on our marketplace.
RPS provides a secure platform to build static and dynamic protection services for confidential and sensitive personal data, available on-demand via API calls. It is the perfect companion to quickly implement auditable compliance to internal or external legal frameworks such as EU-GDPR, FINMA, ECB,... It is readily available on a pay-per-use model for each transformation type: encryption, anonymisation, pseudonymization,...
This week we introduced the Exoscale Academy. We believe that lifelong learning is essential for everybody. With our newly opened Academy we now enable our customers to scale their knowledge and demonstrate their cloud readiness.
Our course catalog offers content for everyone - from beginners to experienced cloud experts. All courses are self-paced and done online.
Available courses and certifications at the moment:
We will further expand our course offering and associated exams within the next months to come.
One Academy, open to everyone, anywhere. Join our Academy and become the next Exoscale Expert!
The Enterprise File Fabric secure data management platform unifies siloed filesystems and object storage including Exoscale Simple Object Storage into a single, easily managed infrastructure.
With the Enterprise File Fabric platform, end users, through desktops and mobile devices, can access cloud storage as they would any network filesystem while providing a policy driver approach to achieving regulatory compliance such as GDPR.
